What does 100% human mean?
Some manufacturers will “bulk” out their product by adding synthetic hair or animal hair (this is sometimes done in Yaki Hair). Jadore only uses 100% human which means it is all ethically sourced human hair and not bulked out with any cheaper fillers.
How is the hair processed?
The hair is taken from donor heads and kept in ponytails to ensure the cuticles all stay in the same downward direction of growth throughout processing. The ponytails are then placed in a gentle bleach bath for as long as is required to lift to the desired level. This process is done very slowly to maintain the quality of the hair. They are then coloured with a chemical dye that does not require lifting the cuticle, as this again maintains the quality of the hair, to tone to the desired shade. It is then sorted into its draw (see What does double drawn mean?) and turned into whatever application method we desire. It is passed through a chemical process that sanitises the hair, smooths the cuticle and is then packaged for shipping. Hair is generally sold by weight, usually in grams.
What does virgin mean?
This is hair that has not been chemically processed in any way, including being coloured or chemically straightened. At Jadore we have a sourcing team that selects only this hair for us that is the highest quality for our premium collection of hair extensions. You will feel the difference, especially over time!
Where does hair come from?
People specifically choose to grow hair to sell as a commercial enterprise. They will sell to hair merchants that collect the hair from various donors and grade the hair according to its quality. Hair is sourced from various parts of the world, according to the thickness and characteristics desired.
What does draw mean?
The “draw” means how much the hair has been refined or sorted into length. The higher the “draw” the more consistent each strand is to the next in relation to length. This is done by pulling the hair through a specialised comb that separates inconsistent hairs.
What is the “draw” of Jadore hair extensions?
Jadore Hair is Double drawn, meaning it is thick and 80-90% of the hairs are consistent in length all the way to the bottom. This gives you a thick lush, full head of hair without having to add an excessive number of extensions.
What types of extensions are there?
Jadore offers both semi-permanent and temporary methods. Semi-Permanent require a hairdresser to apply and match, lasting 4-6 weeks in the hair before requiring refitting by a trained professional. Temporary products can be sold retail and applied by the client at home and are generally only worn for an occasion then removed.
What temporary methods do Jadore offer?
Jadore offers Clip in extension that attach using small, comb-like clips at various intervals throughout the head. These are sold in 120g and 150g packs. We also offer ponytails, attached in a similar way, and a single piece called a halo or volumizer. For more information, see the individual product page
What permanent methods do Jadore offer?
Jadore offers two adhesive techniques, Classic tape and Invisi tape, and two tension techniques, I tip (or bead) and weft.
How many packets of tape make an average full head of hair extensions?
An average full head would be 4 packets of Classic Tape Extensions, Invisi Tape or I-tip Hair Extensions. Classic Weft Hair Extensions and Miracle Weft come in 50 gram or 100 gram full head packs and are cut to size for your individual placement requirements. All full heads recommended are a guideline only, with some thicker hair types requiring more than the recommended average full head. Always consult your stylist for your specific requirements
What lengths and colours do they come in?
Jadore Hair Extensions are available in 16inch, 20inch, 22inch and 26 inch lengths, and include solid, foiled and Balayage shades.
How often do you need to move up the extensions?
Jadore hair extensions require refitting every 4-6 weeks, depending on your hair and your lifestyle. Some people with finer hair or more active lifestyles may require refitting at earlier intervals than others. It is important to understand the refitting intervals recommended by your stylist are to safeguard your hair from damage by refreshing the attachment before natural shedding can make the natural hair too fine to hold the additional weight of your extensions.
Is the hair ethically sourced?
At Jadore, we are in the business of helping women look and feel their most beautiful - that’s why it’s always been so important to us to ensure all our hair is 100% ethically sourced, from donor to manufacture.
Ethically sourced hair is hair that has been willingly donated by an individual who has given their consent and been paid a fair and equitable wage for their donation. It matters to us that our hair has been obtained in a moral fashion, and that our donors are fairly compensated and treated.
Our commitment to ethical standards also extends into our manufacturing processes. We are fortunate enough to have a well-established long-term relationship with our manufacturing team. Within this team we have our trusted hair buyers that select 100% Remy ponytail hair selected from all regions to the highest quality hair to ensure your satisfaction.
What types of extensions are there?
Jadore offers a comprehensive haircare range designed specifically to care for your extensions. Within this range we have two shampoos, conditioner, treatment, blonde care, heat protection and serum, all designed to be extension safe and maintain the warranty on your precious hair investment. It is important you do not use anything containing the below ingredients:
SULPHATES:
Sulphates are a surfactant designed to break down oils on the hair and carry dirt from the hair shaft and scalp. These are not only found to be harsh and irritating for the skin, but they are also incredibly drying.
ALCOHOL:
Alcohol is not only drying for natural hair, but also what is used to deactivate tape when removing extensions. Use of products with this ingredient can often cause slippage.
CITRUS:
Citrus works as a powerful surfactant and can break down the top of tape extensions and dry out the hair, being quite harsh and astringent.
PROTEINS:
The lifting process extensions go through is very gentle and slow. This maintains the structure of the proteins that naturally occur in the hair. If high protein products are used regularly on the hair, it can build too much structure within the hair and make it brittle and dry
SUNSCREEN:
Sunscreen or UV filters in some heat protectants can at times create a chemical reaction in the hair and turn sections of the hair a salmon pink or orange. Only use mineral zinc sunscreen when wearing hair extensions.
ARTIFICIAL TAN:
Artificial tan can stain the hair where it comes into contact with the body.
MEDICATED/TONING SHAMPOO:
Both are very high in alcohol and often contain other astringent agents that can strip and de bond extensions
How are tape extensions attached and removed?
Jadore hair extensions are used either in pairs or as an individual piece with a single sided tape on the other side to seal. A sliver of the natural hair is sectioned and sandwiched between the two extensions to seal, using a hypoallergenic tape adhesive. The tape adhesive will last 4-6 weeks before requiring removal and refitting. To remove, an alcohol-based solution is sprayed on the connection and the tape is loosened. All extension removal processes should be performed by a trained hair professional to ensure the integrity of your natural hair.
TO REMOVE:
- Spray a small amount of Jadore Tape Remover onto the connection of the tape and allow to soften the tape connection.
- Use the end of a tail comb to gently separate the pair.
- Spray more of the Jadore Tape Remover down between the two tapes to free from one another. If you feel any resistance, spray again with Jadore Tape Remover to release. Some residues may be left in the natural hair, in order to remove this from the natural hair, apply 1-2 sprays of an oil-based shine spray and gently comb out, starting from the bottom and working your way up to the scalp.
- Double cleanse the natural hair with Jadore Clarifying Shampoo to ensure all traces of residue have been removed.
Can you colour the extensions?
Colouring extensions will void your warranty; however, we understand from time to time it is unavoidable. If colouring is necessary, we suggest using no higher activator than 10vol (3%). Please do not use hi lift colour, or bleach on extensions, only ever deepen the colour. Where possible it is always advised to use a direct colour or colouring conditioner/shampoo.
How many pieces are in a tape packet?
10 sandwiches, equalling 25g in total. A minimum of 4 packs is required for most installs.
Can you perm the hair?
We do not recommend or guarantee it, as the Extensions have already undergone extensive chemical processing. Perming the hair extensions will void your warranty and possibly damage the integrity/quality of your hair extensions.
How long after application do you need to leave it before washing your hair?
You will need to leave the extensions to bond by not exposing it to water or washing for at least 48-72 hours after application.
Can you use keratin or Plex treatments on extensions?
No. The process used to lift or lighten Jadore Hair Extensions is very gentle, this maintains the protein bonds in the hair that regular in salon lightening breaks down. Too much of this protein in the hair can make the hair brittle. Keratin straightening treatments are great to use prior to extension application, however the treatment does leave a coating on the outside of the hair so needs to be performed 2 weeks prior to tape extension application.
What does it mean if tape begins to become oily or sticky?
This can be due to environmental factors, such as unusually hot weather or humidity in the air. It can also be due to using too high heat on styling tools and hair dryers.
How wide are the bonds?
4cm wide and 1cm deep
How many grams of hair is in 1 Packet of Micro Bead Extensions?
There is 1gram per strand and contain 50 strands equalling 50g per packet
What size are the wefts?
We have a variety of options available in weft:
Classic Weft:
Classic weft is machine stitched and it comes in a 1.1m length that is cut to size to fit the client’s head. It comes in two separate lengths, 22” 100g and 26” 120g packs.
Luxury Flat Weft:
Luxury flat weft has a PU seal at the op instead of a machine stitch to make the weft sit flatter on the head. It comes in 22” and a 1.1m length cut to fit the clients head. It comes in a 22” length and 100g.
How are wefts applied?
The weft is applied by stitching the weft to a track created in the hair using silicone lined beads. You can also bead directly into the hair.
How often do I need to have my Weft Hair Extensions moved up?
All maintenance intervals are designed to optimise the health of the natural hair, not necessarily how long you can get the extension bond to last. Due to naturally occurring shedding slowly thinning the natural hair section the extension is attached to us recommend you refit all types of extensions once every 4-6 weeks.
What type of thread and beads can I use for Weft Hair Extensions?
Silicone lined Micro Beads are used to create the track of natural hair (in place of a traditional braid) as they are lined with a silicone sleeve that cushions the natural hair from damage, or Needle & Marine Grade Thread.
Can I reuse the beads when I have my hair extensions moved up?
No, the beads need to be squeezed to hold for placement and reopened to release for moving up or removing the extensions. The clamping manipulates the elasticity of the metal bead, so it is always best to use new beads.
Will Weft application suit my hair?
We only recommend Classic Weft for medium to thick density hair as thicker hair more easily conceals the connection. Finer hair is better suited to our flat/miracle weft, as the profile off the scalp is 1/3 that of a machine weft, making it easier to conceal.
Can I put my hair up with a Weft?
This comes down to your individual placement. Wefts can be pulled up loosely, and more easily when placement through the sides is on a 45-degree angle. It is always recommended however to avoid pulling too much tension on any extension connection to minimise loosening of your bond.
What beads are used for Microbead extensions
The ideal product to use for this product is our 1000 jar copper microbeads. These come in a 7mm long unlined copper bead with a fluted end. They are available in three colours and come coated so as not to oxidise in the hair.
Can I reuse the beads when I have my hair extensions moved up?
No. Clamping the bead down compromises the elasticity of the metal so it is always best to use new beads.
Will Microbeads suit my hair?
Microbeads are best suited to people with Medium to Thick hair as they are individual strands that require a specific density in each section the extension is attached to, otherwise they are prone to slippage.
How are they attached?
A small section of hair is threaded through the top of a bead, then a strand of extension with a tip on the top (similar to the look of the end of a shoelace) is then threaded into the bottom of the bead. The bead is then pressed closed to hold the tip in the natural hair.
Do they damage the hair?
Damage only ever occurs if the extensions have been poorly applied, maintenance and care has not been followed, or if they are left to grow out past the recommended maintenance period.
It is important to ensure that salons applying your extensions are accredited in safe application methods.
What is a Tape Extension?
Jadore hair extensions are used either in pairs or as an individual piece with a single sided tape on the other side to seal. A fine section of the natural hair is sectioned and sandwiched between the two extensions to seal, using a hypoallergenic tape adhesive. The tape adhesive will last 4-6 weeks before requiring removal and refitting.
To remove, an alcohol-based solution is sprayed on the connection and the tape is loosened. All extension removal processes should be performed by a trained hair professional to ensure the integrity of your natural hair.
Do you have different types of tape extension?
Invisitape:
Invisitape is exactly as it sounds, a tape extension that is virtually invisible in the hair. Rather than having the traditional tab top, this extension has individual strands sewn through the tab top to mimic the appearance of hair growing from the scalp. Invisi tapes have a wear time of 9-12 months on average with correct care. These can also be custom coloured with a root smudge to create an even more undetectable blend. Please refer to colouring guidelines before attempting.
Classic Russian Tape:
All the convenience of a classic tab topped tape style. Pair two together sealing the natural hair between to create a bond. Available in 11 colours and A 22” 50G pack and 26” 60g pack. Classic tapes have a wear time of 9-12 months on average with correct care.
Essentials Collection:
The Essentials Collection is designed for a 3–6-month wear with proper care. It comes in 20” 50g packs and is made from 100% human hair. This is designed as a shorter wear product so will not give the same 9–12-month wear of the Premium line.
Can I colour my natural hair on the same day as having Tape Hair Extensions applied?
We cannot guarantee that if you choose to apply extensions after colouring your natural hair that you will not experience some slippage, therefore we recommend leaving it 48-72 hours after colouring the hair before applying tape extensions to the hair. The cuticle also swells during colouring and can be a little fragile, so applying extensions can in extreme cases compromise the integrity of natural hair.
Can I use a keratin or chemical straightening prior to applying Tape extensions?
If you require a chemical straightening prior to applying extensions, we recommend you leave it at least 2 weeks before applying extensions. Keratin and chemical straightening heavily coat the hair, so that coating will need to settle off the hair before tapes will adhere to the hair shaft.
How often do I need to have my Tape Hair Extensions moved up?
For safe, damage free extension wear it is recommended you have your tape extensions removed and refitted every 4-6 weeks.
How long after a fitting before I can wash my hair?
Please allow 48-72 hours
How do you re-tape the hair to reapply?
Jadore hair supplies offers two strengths of pre-cut tape tabs, classic hold and extra strength. We also offer a single sided tape option that allows you to make those final tweaks with just a single drop of extension.
What is the difference between the essentials and the classic tape?
The Jadore luxury range 100% Human, European hair in a double drawn Remy. It is designed for 9-12 months wear, so best suited to a career hair extension wearer. The Jadore essentials range is 100% human double drawn Remy hair but is Indian hair, so a slightly coarser hair type. It is designed for a 3–6-month wear depending on care. This range is more suited to a temporary wearer, someone who Is going through a colour transition or those who like the feel of new hair for every installation.
How are tape hair extensions removed?
Spray a small amount of Jadore Tape Remover onto the connection of the tape and allow to soften the tape connection. Use the end of a tail comb to gently separate the pair. Spray more of the Jadore Tape Remover down between the two tapes to free from one another. If you feel any resistance, spray again with Jadore Tape Remover to release. Some residues may be left in the natural hair, in order to remove this from the natural hair, apply 1-2 sprays of an oil-based shine spray and gently comb out, starting from the bottom and working your way up to the scalp. Double cleanse the natural hair with Jadore Clarifying Shampoo to ensure all traces of residue have been removed.
Will tapes suit my hair?
Tape extensions are fast becoming the most popular extension method, due to their versatility, natural look and suitability for a multitude of hair types and uses. Tape extensions suit all hair types and are gentle on the hair when applied and removed correctly. Invisitapes are more suitable for finer hair types, however.
Do they cause damage?
Tape hair extensions are gentle and safe for natural hair provided they are applied correctly by a professional, and correct maintenance and care is followed and the refit intervals are adhered to.
How are they attached?
Tape extensions are used in pairs, with one adhesive tab on each. The two adhesive sides are paired together with a thin section of natural hair in between. The adhesive expands, creating a bond to the hair shaft as well as to each other through the hair strands. This bond takes approximately 72 hrs to form, which is why we ask that you do not wash your hair or get it wet during this time.
What lengths are available?
We have 20” 22” and 26” lengths available
What options do you have in clip ins?
Our clip ins come in a 7 piece packs, measuring 22” in length at 120grams, and a 9 piece pack, measuring 22” in length at 150grams.
How are they attached?
Each piece has a number of clips on it depending on the size of the pieces. Each piece comes with a small comb fixture that snaps shut when you apply pressure. Each comb is lined with a rubber stopper to avoid damage to the natural hair.
What do I wash it with?
Always wash your extensions before storing, especially after using styling sprays that are often high in alcohol. Use Jadore Volume boost shampoo followed by Jadore intense hydration conditioner to keep in optimal condition.
How do I store my clip ins?
Jadore offers a beautiful hanging storage bag to keep your extensions ready to go whenever you need them.
How do I get my clip ins to blend with my natural hair?
If you have a blunt cut or have very thick hair you may need to have your clip ins customised before you wear them. Always allow a trained professional to do this
How is Jadore Hair Supplies different from others?
The term “Remy” has become a very over-used term in the hair extension industry. It is important to understand that most hair on the market is actually not truly Remy. It is difficult to see the difference when looking at a packet of hair extensions but you can always inspect the ends of the hair. If you see some small black dots that is a telltale sign that there are strands of hair running in the wrong direction. We stand by our hair quality and ensure that all of our tape, weft and i-tip hair extensions are made with only Remy hair. You will notice these characteristics as soon as you feel and see our premium quality hair extensions. You can read more about our hair quality here (link to “our hair process” page)
Our experienced and passionate customer care team are available to answer any of your questions via phone or email.
What application methods are available for purchase?
We have a wide range of application options to suit each hair type and desired result. Our semi permanent collection includes iTip, Classic tape, Invisible/Skin weft Tape, Classic weft and Miracle Wefts. In ourn clip in range you will find clip in sets, clip in ponytails and clip in halo one pieces.
What is the difference between our hair types and is it Remy?
For all of our Premium collection semi permanent hair extensions we proudly use individually selected Virgin hair that is collected from all regions of the world to ensure we are only offering the best quality and are never restricted by lack of supply. This hair needs to last 9-12 months so we insist on this being strictly 100% cuticle aligned (Remy). For our Essential collection tape extensions and our clip in hair extensions, we use mixed Remy hair that is still selected with the following quality properties: Little or no previous colouring, Soft but strong hair structure and with good hair health properties. This hair type has a shorter wear time of around 3 months for essential tapes, and around 12 months for clip in products (if worn 1-3 times per week).
Is Jadore Hair Double Drawn?
Yes! All of our hair is double drawn. The hair is manually checked for any short hairs. These short hairs are removed to ensure that each hair extension strand is full from the top to the bottom (no thin, wispy ends). You would be surprised on how much this improves the completed look, and unlike others we stock double drawn hair at single drawn prices!
Is Jadore hair straight, wavy or curly?
Jadore hair has a natural texture or ‘body wave’. This means that the hair has a lovely loose wave or romance wave if air dried. If blowdried, it can be a straighter result. The slight wave gives the hair more body, suits many clients’ hair type, and is the most versatile hair type as it will hold a curl extremely well, but can still be styled straight very easily.
What lengths and how many colours are available in the Jadore range?
We offer a length of stunning long 22inch/55cm for all our extension methods. In addition, we also offer various products in 20inch/50cm, 16inch/40cm and an incredibly long option of 26 inch/66cm. Can I colour my extensions?
Plenty of our Jadore customers colour their extensions with no problems at all. It is safe to apply a semi permanent colour using no more than a 1.5% developer to either deepen the level or to tone. Do not attempt to bleach or lighten your Jadore hair as this will only cause irreversible damage to your extensions. Please ensure you apply the desired colour to a test strand first, as we cannot be held responsible for any issues you may encounter during or after any colouring of your Jadore hair.
